Welcome to the Nordic House‘s children’s library, where everyone is invited to play, learn and read in an adventurous underwater environment that we have created in between the books. The exhibition is especially aimed at children and their families and is part of the Nordic House’s educational work for children and young people. Check out the program here.

How do animals and plants survive in the coldest region of the world and how are they related? what effect does plastic have on their lives and what can be done with plastic? Visitors have the opportunity to learn about plants and animals that live in the Arctic Ocean, on the ice shelf or deep on the seabed – but those organisms share their homes with countless amounts of plastic. Exhibition based on the Norwegian book ‘Under the Arctic Ice‘ by Line Renslebraten. Design and implementation is done in collaboration with Þórdísi Erla Zoega, an artist who has extensive experience with different plastics. Sorpa and Pure North help with education in collaboration with the education representative of Norræna hús.
The exhibition is open to everyone during the normal opening hours of Norræna hús Tue-Sun 10:00-17:00. Free entry and wheelchair access through Hvelfingu exhibition space.
