There’s good news from Mellemblond, who is dropping new music – an album is on the way, and the song ’Sikke en dag’ hits the streets today, Friday, November 21st. With the single’s stylish sound and imaginative lyrics, you’re immediately back in the unique Mellemblond Universe. ’Sikke en dag’ is the first release from the upcoming album, which will be out in spring 2026. With the coming album, Mellemblond returns to its roots: The original lineup – Silas Tinglef, Jens Hein, and Kristoffer Munck – have reunited, and they deliver right from the start on the new single. Imagine C.V. Jørgensen fronting The Beatles, with a Danish hymn writer providing the lyrics! The result is a Babushka doll of a Danish poetic rock song, where you can wonder about life in the pop verses, revel freely in the airy groove of the chorus, get stung by the snarling fuzz guitars, and finally float away in a beautiful, melodious outro. It’s been four years since the album ’En jordisk chance’ was released, and the longer creative process this time is partly due to Mellemblond/Kristoffer Munck becoming a father in the meantime. Music, however, never stopped flowing: ’Sikke en dag’ has been ready for release for a while, but it wasn’t until the old trio found each other again that the album truly took shape – in a tiny, heat-soaked studio over the summer.
“Silas, Jens, and I played a concert together in spring, and it inspired us to create something again in the original setup from the very first album. Fortunately, the creative spark was there from day one, and we enjoyed playing together again, even though we were squeezed into a tiny studio in the summer heat. We recorded eight tracks for the album coming this spring, and now we can’t wait to send the first song out into the world and see how it lands,” says Kristoffer Munck, who is also looking forward to performing the new material live. ’Sikke en dag’ is out on November 21st, 2025 on Mellemblond’s own label; the album will be released in spring 2026.
