Banedanmark has completed renovation works on the 85-kilometre line between Aarhus and the town of Langå, part of the connection between Aarhus and Aalborg: rails, sleepers and ballast have been replaced over a distance of 45 kilometres, eleven new switches were installed, and six others received an upgrade. Banedanmark also built three new bridges to replace overpasses and trains can now run faster (increased speed through Laurbjerg will have to wait until later in October). These works are part of the Aarhus-Aalborg Airport railway electrification project, which should give people on the Jutland peninsula more options for fast and CO2-friendly travel, and it should also mean less noise and harmful emissions for people living near the tracks.
