
Mikaela Shiffrin secured back-to-back slalom wins in Levi on Sunday 20 November, to claim a record sixth victory at the Finnish resort and a record sixth reindeer as, unique to this event, each winner is ‘given’ one of the furry beasts as a prize: the animals actually remain in Lapland, but the skiers get to name them. Shiffrin named her 2019 prize Ingemar, in honour of Swedish technical legend Ingemar Stenmark whose tally of 86 World Cup wins remains the all-time record. Fifth place for Swedish skier Sara Hector, and tenth place for Norwegian racer Thea Louise Stjernesund. Read more on Olympics.com
