Erling Thue Dideriksen, the designer responsible for the ‘headlight brick’, one of the most iconic and versatile LEGO elements of all time, has sadly passed away aged 78. The ‘headlight brick’ was the first piece that allowed designers to build in different directions (SNOT or studs-not-on-top), effectively redefining LEGO building forever. It has since (1979) been nicknamed as the ‘Erling’ both within the LEGO Group and the LEGO community.
