Although there have been lots of talks about defense within the Icelandic government, especially after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and despite Iceland being a NATO member, Minister of Foreign Affairs Þórdís Kolbrún Reykfjörð Gylfadóttir told mbl.is that it is not time to establish a military force in Iceland.
