The City of Tampere has been awarded in the ‘enabling technologies category’ at the Barcelona Smart City Expo World Congress, the world’s largest smart city event. There were over 400 submissions to different categories at the event. In particular, Tampere was praised for how it uses data to benefit the everyday lives of its residents and businesses: the platform can be replicated in other cities worldwide. The city highlighted the versatile use of its smart data centre, for applications and services ranging from security solutions to support for businesses.
