On March 7, Sweden officially joined NATO: after two years, all formalities for Sweden to accede to the North Atlantic Treaty, which is NATO’s founding document, have been satisfied. Sweden is now a NATO member (the 32nd) as the other Nordic countries, and participates fully as an Ally in the Organization.
