‘Vikersund Hoppsenter’ is known for having the world’s largest jumping hill with a world record of 253.5 metres. Ski flying is an extreme mental and physical challenge for a ski jumper: this extreme feeling is something that Vikersund Hoppsenter wants to offer to more people than the ski jumpers, by expanding the facility so that it can offer challenges for most people. Zipline out Vikersundbakken will be the first extreme signature activity. The center has a 5-year plan, where the aim is to offer more new extreme experiences for all ages. In addition to the Zipline, there will be activities for children and young people in the area around the jumping hill.
In addition to being an arena for our jumpers, Vikersund Hoppsenter has developed into a center for sports and leisure: hundreds of young people practice football, handball and volleyball and many people use the area for walking and exercise, preferably combined with a visit to the café. With the launch of Zipline, the hope is to attract further visits from residents, from neighboring municipalities and neighboring towns. Vikersund Hoppsenter is also ideal for those who want an active holiday: add the training session to the stairs with 1078 steps or take the lift to the top, where the view is fantastic. The area can also be used as a starting point for longer trips into Finnemarka: there are a number of blue-marked trails, idyllic bathing waters and several great viewpoints. The map is called “Finnemarka” and trip suggestions can also be searched at ut.no.
