The 2024 IIHF World Championship is being hosted by Czechia from 10 to 26 May 2024: the tournament takes place in Prague and Ostrava. The previous Ice Hockey World Championship 2023 was held in Latvia and Finland, and in 2025 it will be held in Sweden and Denmark. 16 teams participate in the tournament, divided into two groups: of the Nordic countries, Denmark, Finland and Norway are in group A, Sweden is in Group B. The current standings of the preliminary rounds are the following, with Sweden as the only Nordic country that made it to the playoffs, and Norway already eliminated (even if it avoided relegation).
