Iceland. On September 12, thanks to legal uncertainties surrounding alcohol sales, the grocery store Hagkaup began selling alcohol online for in-store pickup. The Minister of Finance Sigurður Ingi Jóhannsson has expressed concern about the possible implications of this decision on the youth: according to the Minister, it is “irresponsible” for companies to launch online alcohol stores at a time when youth intoxication and serious violent incidents are on the rise.
