
Norwegian biathlon star Johannes Thingnes Bø has declared his intention to retire following the conclusion of the 2024-2025 BMW IBU World Cup season. The 31-year-old athlete, who boasts an illustrious career with 20 World Championship titles, five Olympic gold medals, and five Total Score titles, at the moment of writing is currently second in the ongoing season. Originally planning to compete through the next year, Bø cited the demanding nature of preparing for the Olympics as a factor in his decision to step away earlier than anticipated. His final competitive appearance is scheduled for the season finals at Holmenkollen, Oslo, in March 2025.
