The 2025 IIHF World Championship is co-hosted by Stockholm, Sweden, and Herning, Denmark, from 9 to 25 May 2025. In the quarterfinals, co-host country Denmark defeated Canada, by a 2–1 score, in an upset. Denmark will play in their first semifinal, while Sweden will face the USA in the other semifinal. The USA had previously defeated Finland 5-2 in the quarterfinals
