All Things Nordic has just released its fourth book ‘Strange Stories‘ (ATN004) on Lulu.com
A collection of stories about Love, Freedom and Grief: a story for every taste, whether you want to laugh, cry or be surprised by the possibilities of the world. The book has stories about a child’s first encounter with loss in his gold fish’s funeral. A retelling of the apes sent up to space to make way for humankind. A sickness that makes people’s heads fall off. Relationships seen from a man’s point of view. A shoe that starts an army of man-eating shoes, after being thrown away and rejected. The adventure of the ghost Luna and her only friend, Mister Pumpkin, as she tries to find her way in death. And a crab fighting for his life against the cooks that want to fry him. Most of the stories are also illustrated by different artists, giving life and a bit of colour to the stories.
The author Ivalou Leveau Jensen is a Dane who loves knitting, sculpting, and a good story. She started her journey with a BA in stop-motion and puppet-making from Staffordshire University. This further led Ivalou back to Denmark where she worked on the short film ‘Buff Cops’ (2020), and the Norwegian 3D/ stop-motion feature film ‘Folk og Røvere i Kardemomme by’ (2023). This all ignited her old passion: storytelling. After helping others see their projects and dreams come true, Ivalou finally dared to put her own stories out here too: “My place in the world is among stories and imagination. It is the place closest to what I would call home, and where I feel most like myself.“
