EU funds for Greenland, at the centre of recent geopolitical tensions with the United States, and other overseas territories will double, according to long-term budget plans unveiled by Brussels. The increase in funding is part of a series of additional spending plans presented by the European Commission for the 2028-2034 budget, most of which was presented in July. According to the proposal, Greenland is set to receive €530 million in support, more than double the amount allocated to the autonomous Danish territory under the current budget, according to an official statement from the EU Commission
