Danish municipalities will use a 100 million kroner special fund for struggling homes to help hard-up residents pay their bills. The government fund was originally intended to help low-income people in Denmark and so far has been rarely used because of tight eligibility criteria and insubstantial communication. The scheme is funded by the state (it is set to be increased from 100 million to 200 million kroner) and will help people pay electricity and heating bills by applying for extra financial assistance through their municipalities.
