Arla and Eurowind Energy have signed a ten-year power purchase agreement, which will enable Arla to reach its goal of using only green electricity in Denmark by 2025. The electricity will come from an unsubsidised 39.6 MW wind farm in Jammerbugt, which will supply 137 GW/h per year to the dairy player. There is already a wind farm on the site, which will be repowered to replace the existing turbines with 11 new-generation turbines to be commissioned in November 2024. The use of green energy will result in annual savings of 58,000 tonnes of CO2: Arla aims to reduce CO2 emissions from its production activities by 63% by 2030.
