Currently, there are strikes in parts of Iceland’s services industry; seemingly, and at least partially, due to the unwillingness of hotel owners to pay hotel cleaners better wages. The strikes will affect some hotels and fuel delivery drivers in the Reykjavík capital area. There are upcoming hotel closures scheduled, and there may be disruptions in supplies to gas stations. The situation is evolving; hopefully, the unions will reach a new collective bargaining agreement, and disruptions to your travel plans will be minimal.
