Norway Reach World Cup Round of 16 with Dramatic 2-1 Victory over Côte d’Ivoire

Norway booked their place in the FIFA World Cup Round of 16 after a dramatic 2-1 victory over Côte d’Ivoire, secured by a late Erling Haaland winner in Dallas. Antonio Nusa gave the Norwegians the lead in the 39th minute with a superb curling effort, but Côte d’Ivoire fought back after the break. Substitute Amad Diallo produced a brilliant solo run to level the score in the 74th minute, setting up a tense finale.

With extra time looming, Norway’s captain Martin Ødegaard helped launch one final attack before Sander Berge delivered a dangerous cross that Haaland converted in the 86th minute. The goal sealed Norway’s first-ever FIFA World Cup knockout-stage victory and continued the striker’s outstanding tournament. The result sends Ståle Solbakken’s side into a blockbuster Round of 16 clash against Brazil, while Côte d’Ivoire exit the tournament with plenty of credit after an impressive World Cup campaign that saw them reach the knockout stage for the first time.
