The studio has designed diverse buildings of high quality and participated in architectural competitions with good results. Emphasis is placed on general quality control and continuous improvement of work processes and services according to requirements of the ISO 9001 standard. ‘Teiknistofan Trað’ takes pride in making detailed estimates of construction costs and maintains active cost control during the design phase. Design materials are of high quality. Skilled personnel who make an effort to increase their knowledge and ability to deal with challenging projects are the company’s main resource. The studio’s staff are educated architects, who have multifaceted experience from Teiknistofan Tröð and foreign architectural firms. Teiknistofan Trað and the owners are members of the Icelandic Association of Architects, Norske arkitekters landsforbund, Félag self-employed architects FSSA and members of Nordic Built. The owners of Teiknistofan Trað are Hans-Olav Andersen architect FAÍ, MNAL and Sigríður Magnúsdóttir architect FAÍ, but Sigríður is the unit manager of the company. Teiknistofan Trað has been operating continuously since 1990. The headquarters of the Salvation Army in Iceland is the setting for diverse activities and services for the public and clients of the Salvation Army. Gatherings, various types of welfare services, restaurant operations, as well as the management of the activities of the Salvation Army in Iceland, take place there. The number of guests in the house varies greatly. The building’s meeting rooms are based on the mixed use of a restaurant and meeting hall. The building has one and two floors that are uneven in size. There is a lot of space in the building and high ceilings in the main halls on the first floor. Ceiling height varies greatly due to sloping roof surfaces which are reflected indoors. There is a large outdoor area next to the house, which includes playgrounds for children and a vegetable garden.
