For just the second time ever, FC Copenhagen were in the round of 16 in the world’s strongest club tournament, where Manchester City showed that they were not only on paper the strongest possible opponent we could have drawn. 35,853 were in place in the Park for the biggest match in the club’s history, where Neestrup & co. went with the normal 4-3-3, which also took FCK further in the group stage than most would have dared to dream of. Lerager was suspended, and there was an official debut for both Scott McKenna and Magnus Mattsson from the start: Grabara – Jelert, Vavro, McKenna, Diks – Diogo, Falk, Mattsson – Elyounoussi, Claesson, Achouri.

Thanks to the fans for the support. Thanks to City for the show. And last but not least, thank you to Neestrup and the players for the experience. Few people dream of reaching the 1/8 finals in the Champions League, and the way FCK did it in the autumn will long stand as one of the best things ever achieved. So far.
