Norwegian cyclist André Drege (1999-2024) died during a descent on stage 4 of the 2024 Tour of Austria: he was born in Ålesund and rode for UCI Continental team Team Coop–Repsol. Drege, on the verge of signing with Jayco-AlUla, ran off the road on the long and difficult descent of the Grossglockner.
