The RYSKE biennal military exercise occurs from 22 to 26 July in the forests of Finnish Inari municipality, Kaamanen-Näätämö area (Lapland), only 2km from the north-east Finnish-Norwegian border. The Kaamanen-Näätämö road crosses the Norwegian border in the north-east, and leads to Kirkenes. A total of approximately 250 personnel and 25 vehicles from the Finnish Jaeger Brigade’s readiness unit and Norwegian Armed Forces convened for the exercise.
