Due to habitat disruption and climate change, Finland’s bird population has been declining steadily over recent years. According to BirdLife Finland, every year millions of young and migratory birds die in Finland crashing into windows of houses and other buildings. Using curtains and blinds would reduce the transparency and reflectivity of the windows, but also unwashed windows should prevent bird deaths, as birds can see windows better when there is more dirt on them.
