Sweden’s Big Five” is a carnivore protection project that provides news, facts, reports, links, story ideas, photos and videos for possible download, under certain conditions. To media professionals, influencers and decision makers who want to learn more and tell others about the facts around the five large carnivores in Sweden: the lynx, wolf, bear, wolverine and human.

Sweden’s large carnivores are under serious threat: the Swedish government is drastically raising the hunting quotas, including trophy hunting. At the same time as 69% of the Swedes are in favour of all the large carnivore species being around, the Government is actively working on bringing down the number of lynx, wolf, bear and wolverine as low as possible. Sweden’s new policy has already had worrying ripple effects on EU carnivore policies: it is urgent.

“Sweden’s Big Five” is run by the Wild Wonders Foundation, in collaboration with the Swedish Carnivore Association and WWI. With support from the Sigrid Rausing Trust.
