
In Rome, third edition of the ‘Nordic November’ event, promoted by the Embassies of Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, the cultural institutes of the four countries and the ‘Circolo Scandinavo’, with over 40 events throughout the city. Jan Mark’s photo exhibition opens tomorrow: until 29 November, shots of Etruscan finds in Swedish excavations in the Viterbo area will be on display at the Swedish Institute. On Thursday, the Institute of Norway will celebrate the great Edvard Munch in a meeting with Ivo de Figueiredo, author of the artist’s biography of The Scream. Songs inspired by his works will then arrive at the Maxxi on 21 November at 9pm, with a concert by Norwegian saxophonist Bendik Giske. For literature fans, on Friday Ida Montrasio and Anna Brännström will present ‘The Nordic Thought. Finding Happiness under the Northern Lights’ at the ‘Altroquando’ bookshop (7 p.m.), while on Saturday at 10 a.m., the Swedish ambassador’s residence will open its doors to the presentation of the book “Nordic Education” by Federica Pepe. There will then be two walking tours organised by the ‘Circolo Scandinavo’, on the trail of the Nordic artists who, from the 18th century to the present day, have left their mark on Rome (9 and 23 November). Space is also given to films, with the screening of Tiina Lymi’s ‘Stormskerry Maja’, on Sunday at the ‘Casa del Cinema’, and to music, with the Finnish string quartet composed of Leena Jaakkola, Otto Antikainen, Eriikka Nylund and Samuli Peltonen, on 12 November at Villino Sforza Cesarini.
