Stubb noted that President Trump’s patience with Russia is diminishing, indicating that the U.S. has “far-reaching” plans should Russia fail to comply with the proposed ceasefire. Trump has threatened to impose secondary tariffs of 25% to 50% on Russian oil if Moscow obstructs efforts to end the war. The Finnish president also mentioned that Senator Lindsey Graham is preparing a sanctions package, which is expected to receive support from about 50 senators. This package aims to serve as an incentive for Russia to adhere to the proposed ceasefire.
