The UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 kicks off in Switzerland from July 2 to 27, featuring 16 teams battling across eight cities for continental glory. The five Nordic nations—Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Iceland—are all among the contenders, each bringing their unique strengths and compelling storylines.
🇳🇴 Norway and 🇸🇪 Sweden to the knockout stage
Norway and Sweden won their respective groups by winning all games: Norway won 2-1 vs both Switzerland and Finland, 4-3 vs Iceland; Sweden won 1-0 vs Denmark, 3-0 vs Poland and 4-1 vs Germany
🇫🇮 Finland: Breaking ice in the opener was not enough

Only losses for 🇮🇸 Iceland and 🇩🇰 Denmark
Iceland and Denmark lost all their games. Despite the losses, Iceland showed grit: they lost narrowly vs Finland (but played in 10 for 40′ and conceded the only goal) and Norway (against whom they scored first) and 0-2 vs Switzerland. Denmark lost all three games by one goal: 0-1 vs Sweden, 1-2 vs Germany (but Denmark was leading 1-0) and 2-3 vs Poland.
🌟 Tournament Outlook & What to Watch
Of all the Nordic teams Norway and Sweden are through to the knockout on the same end of the table: in the quarter finals, Norway will face Italy and Sweden the 2nd of group D, likely England or the Netherlands. Should they both pass, they would clash at the semifinal
