
Finland has introduced stricter rules for e-scooter use, treating them like motor vehicles when it comes to alcohol and drugs. Riders caught with a blood alcohol level of 0.5 g/l or more now face a €200 fine. In the first month alone, nearly 190 fines were issued. The law also sets a minimum age of 15 for all e-scooter users, with parents fined if underage riders are caught. Authorities can now conduct on-the-spot tests, and local governments have more power to regulate rentals, speed (max 25 km/h), and parking.
