The American battery company Lyten has announced it has entered into binding agreements to acquire the bankrupt Swedish start-up Northvolt (Northvolt Ett and Ett Expansion in Skellefteå, Northvolt Labs in Västerås, and Northvolt Drei in Heide, Germany), promising to restart production at the company’s sites in both Sweden and Germany.
Lyten is also buying all remaining intellectual property, also taking on key members of the current Northvolt executive team.
