With more than 200 special events Culture Night is Denmark’s biggest one-day event which for more than 30 years has enriched and delighted curious and interested guests. The many organizers of Culture Night in Copenhagen include museums, theatres, churches, castles and ministries which are ready to open their doors, inviting you inside to take part in unique events that can only be experienced this one time a year, and to exciting locations normally closed after dark. This year, there is a unique opportunity on Østerbro, where the public on Culture Night are invited into The Danish Order of Freemason’s beautiful and secretive premises. If one is more inclined to a magical atmosphere one can go and explore the Hogwartian old University Library in Fiolstræde or visit the founder of Carlsberg brewer Jacobsen’s newly renovated villa. Continue to Copenhagen Zoo, where you can watch the animals’ nocturnal activities as darkness descends, or go to Vesterbro, where both Astralis and Games Denmark are opening their universes of games and gaming.

On Culture Night you can also look forward to exploring Copenhagen’s coming Water-Culture House on Papirøen (Paper Island) and hear more about the architecture and wellness plans for the area. What about going ’back of house’ at Hotel Scandic Cph and looking behind the scenes of one of the city’s big busy hotels, or visiting Rosenborg Castle in the dark and exploring the 400-year-old halls with a torch. Culture Night also offers you the possibility for an exclusive tour of The National Archives and to Parken, where the tour takes you among other places past the changing rooms of Denmark’s national football team and offers other special experiences all to be found in the programme.
