Established in 1954, and since 1971 organised by the Football Association of Greenland, the Greenlandic Football Championship (Isikkamik Arsaalluni Pissartanngorniunneq), also known as the Coca-Cola GM Football Championship, is the premier football competition in Greenland. The Football Association of Greenland is not a part of any confederation, but it is planning to join FIFA. Due to the harsh climate and the long distances to be travelled, the Greenlandic football season is ‘unique’ as it is organized on regional qualifiers, plus the final championship that is played over a single week. Nagdlunguak 1948, a sports club based in Ilulissat, are the current champions, whereas B-67 Nuuk is the most successful football team to have won the championship. Read more: Kak.gl
