Located in Helligdomsklipperne, one of Denmark‘s most beautiful and spectacular landscapes, Bornholm’s Art Museum was built in 1993 and quickly became successful among Bornholmers and tourists. The white museum building is considered one of the best in modern Danish architecture, definitely worth a visit in itself. Bornholm’s Art Museum hosts 6-8 special exhibitions every year, also thanks to the international research and exhibition collaborations established with Sweden, Russia, the Baltic countries, England, Germany, France and Italy. Its permanent collection of Bornholm-related art includes works from the Golden Age to the present, but the museum plans to expand and develop the dissemination of both the existing collections and new forms of work: a physical and high-tech new building will accommodate new opportunities for experience and cognition, and the museum will develop specific guidelines and strategies for collection, research and dissemination.
