The Icelandic film ‘Godland‘ (original title ‘Vanskabte Land’) was very well received at its Cannes Film Festival premiere in the ‘Un Certain Regard’ category: few other films have received such a positive response this year, with the audience giving a standing ovation, and critics giving their best ratings. Is ‘Godland’ the hidden gem of the Festival? The movie is set at the end of the 18th century and tells the story of a Danish priest (Elliott Crosset Hove) who travels to Iceland to build a church and photograph the local people. Ingvar E.
