Kiruna, 18000 inhabitants in the far north of Sweden (125 miles above the Arctic Circle), in 2026 will be moved 3km east from its original location: subsidence from the local iron ore mine is threatening to swallow the town, so much so that cracks have already appeared in the hospital and a school is no longer safe for its pupils.
