The Norwegian border crossing station at Storskog (Wikipedia)

According to ‘The Barents Observer’, there is disagreement within the Norwegian Government on how to react to the European Commission’s recent sanctions policy update telling member states to ban the entry of Russian cars: Norway is not a EU member, but follows most of the sanctions imposed in response to Russia’s brutal war against Ukraine. Norway was already used by Russian tourists to reach Finland by car through the Storskog crossing station (15km East of Kirkenes) and other five crossing points, and now the Norwegian-Russian border is the only one open to Russian private vehicles: following the European Commission update, the Baltic States and Finland have already sealed their borders accordingly.
