EuroBasket 2025: By beating Georgia 93-79, Finland reached the semifinals for the first time in history, also becoming the first Nordic country to advance to the medal games. Finland will face Germany on Friday 12, in Riga (Latvia)
Previously to this edition, Finland had played in 17 EuroBasket tournaments, with their best finish coming in sixth place at EuroBasket 1967, on home soil. Finland is also hosting the 2025, alongside Cyprus, Latvia and Poland. On 6 March 2023, Tampere was announced as the host city for Finland, where Group B took place. The other Nordic countries attending the competition were Iceland (didn’t make it to the knockout stage) and Sweden (defeated 79-85 by Turkey in the Round of 16).
