
Update: one kilometer of rails and three gears must be replaced. The last carriage of the train has suffered extensive damage, and a couple of other carriages have also been damaged. ‘Arlanda Express‘ is canceling its trains for at least five to seven days. Flygbussarna has added extra departures to and from Arlanda.
According to Svt, at 4:40am this morning (May 27) an ‘Arlanda Express’ train connecting central Stockholm with the capital’s main airport derailed with 70 people on board: the train went off the tracks but did not overturn. Two people were injured, and at 6:00 the evacuation operation was completed. The reasons for the accident are still to be ascertained: all trains between Stockholm and Arlanda Airport are suspended.
